Found a news article that reports Redland Bay will become the first suburb in the Redland City to be connected to the NBN network!
Construction is expected to commence in June 2014 with the first connections happening in 2015 and will hopefully see the entire suburb connected by the end of 2017.
Luckily for us we are NBN ready with the inclusion of that in our electrical selections. We look forward to welcoming that into our new home in the near future.
A catch up visit and close up view of inside and outside work that has been done during our absence.
The roof has now been completed, the frame inspection has occurred and passed, all roof accessories have been installed, electrician has paid a visit, plumbing has been installed, the windows have been hung and the bricks are being delivered! WOW what a lot has happened since our last visit.
But what’s this I spy? The Wrong Windows have been installed upstairs! There are meant to be 2 louvre windows and instead they are awning windows. Never fear, a quick chat with David and the windows are out and the correct windows will be arriving and installed next Friday! There were a few other errors which we noticed prior to the inspection and which have been marked and noted for amendment. Pretty happy so far with the work done and the detail of inspection. Just hope the fixing of the errors is at just as great standard!
The brickies have been held up on another job and were meant to start Friday 17 May and now looks like the bricking will be started either Sat 18 May or Mon 20 May.

I am finally back! Life was a little hectic and then we went to Melbourne so I apologise for the delay.
I will try to just briefly recap everything that has happened as it seems it was all full steam ahead and we are just catching up now!
29 April – the EE-Fit energy efficiency solutions truck paid a visit, so I think either and/or solar hot water, solar power system wiring/plumbing may have been installed.
30 April – Scaffolding was constructed for the balcony and the house was wrapped in that foil insulation.
1-2 May – Guttering and fascia were delivered and installed
- guttering and fascia – loving the colours – Ironstone and shale grey.
3 May – First official visit inside the frame and of our views from the balcony! And it did not disappoint. How nice it is to be able to see the bay from up there.

3 May – The roof was put on the whole house – just the garage was left! And what day wouldn’t be complete without a clean out of the on site dunny!!
Yes, our mate Kenny was on site doing a wonderful job!!
We were told while we were away that the roof accessories would be completed – such as plumbing, electrical, ducted aircon and ducted vacuum. Then a frame inspection would take place and that would involve some graffiti of bright pink spray paint and then some bright yellow spray paint from QA to follow. Then items that needed repair or alteration would be rectified. Then the scaffolding would come down and then finally the roof would go on the garage.
